What will your child experience at Kindergarten?
Our programme reflects the values of the Early Childhood National Curriculum Te Whāriki. It is designed to encourage children to become independent learners and promotes and recognises the importance of learning through play.
We offer a ratio of one teacher to 10 children who will encourage, extend and value your child’s efforts.
Glenbrook Kindergarten offers an attractive and well resourced indoor and outdoor environment. The outdoor area provides an attractive, challenging space which invites the children to engage in physically active play and is enhanced by new colourful sun shades. The indoor environment invites the children to engage in nature and science exploration, art, music and movement, pretend and dramatic play as well as experiences which promote early literacy and maths.
The Kindergarten programme is enhanced through special events organised by the teachers such as Fathers and Friends Night, Grandparents Week, Fancy Dress Disco, Breakfast at Kindy, Bike-athon, excursions stemming from the children’s interests, as well as through regular visits from community workers such as firefighters, police officers, St John's Ambulance and entertainers.
Parent involvement is an integral part of the philosophy of Glenbrook Kindergarten. Families are invited to be involved in the life of the Kindergarten and to meet each other. There is a strong spirit of community involvement in annual events and fundraising ventures organised by an active Kindergarten Support Group.
Visitors and enquires are welcome.
