Changes to Managing our Early Childhood Services at Alert Level 3 from 6th October

Kia ora
While Tāmaki Makaurau | Auckland will remain at Alert Level 3 there are changes to how this will work at our service as part of the governments three-step roadmap to reduce restrictions. These changes will take affect from 11.59pm on Tuesday 5 October.
The government’s public health team believe that, with the right precautions in place including limiting the size of groups to 10 children within a bubble and strict infection prevention and control, the risk posed by the return of ECE is low. Early Learning Services can welcome more children back from Wednesday. The exact number will depend on the number of bubbles of 10 children they can manage on their site.
Early Learning Services will contact parents in Auckland about the plan for their service and options for their children.
We are looking forward to seeing more children return to our service. In order for us to plan ahead of opening on Wednesday can you please let us know of your intention to return. We may not be able to accommodate all children and we ask you to work with us on this.
Increased infection prevention and controls includes the Government’s request for parents and caregivers to wear face coverings at drop off and pick up. Our staff will be doing the same. Please let us know if you have an exemption from wearing a face covering. We will also continue to regularly clean and disinfect high touch surfaces, encourage everyone to frequently wash their hands and cough and sneeze into their elbow.
While physical distancing is not a requirement within bubbles at Alert Level 3 in early learning services, we will be doing our best to keep physical distance between adults and keeping spaces well-ventilated while maintaining the required temperature.
At Alert Level 3, there is community transmission and we need to follow a number of public health requirements. Please do continue to monitor your health and do not bring your children to our early learning service if they are not well (and please seek advice about getting a COVID test) from your GP or local testing centre.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us if there is something you need.
