What makes us unique?

Here at Wattle Cove Early Learning, we invite you and your whānau (family) to experience an environment that welcomes individuality and promotes lifelong learning. We value you as part of our community and encourage you to be involved in your child's journey through their preschool years. We look forward to collaboratively creating valuable learning opportunities for your child.

Our spacious, natural indoor and outdoor learning environments provide children with the opportunity to make their own choices and be affirmed as capable and independent learners.

Our affordable fees include nutritious morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, and late snacks for children who attend full days.

“We loved the learning through play and outdoor play equipment. It was around hauora and the wellbeing of the whole child. Great with communicating and they care for each child as an individual. Lots of aroha!”

Parent / whānau feedback 2024, Wattle Cove Early Learning, Wattle Downs

The team at Wattle Cove are awesome. We are very impressed and happy with the service, the love and care that our children receive is fantastic. Our daughter is a celiac and our son has allergies. This has not been an issue. The team has bent over backwards to accommodate the kids’ dietary requirements purchasing new kitchen utensils and changing how they prepare food. I would recommend Wattle Cove to anyone who would like their children to be happy and cared for.

We had the best feeling after visiting the centre compared to the others we had seen. Staff were friendly, kids had plenty of activities, centre was well presented.”

Our Programme

Our centre is inspired by the Pikler and Reggio theories and approaches. These embrace love and respect where children develop at their own pace through inquiry learning. Our environment is structured so children have freedom of choice and the opportunity to explore in an unhurried manner. Teachers (kaiako) support children’s inquiry learning and together become co-researchers.

Wattle Cove Early Learning has built strong relationships and open communication with surrounding schools to enhance the development of positive ongoing transitions to school for all children attending our centre.

Te Whāriki, the New Zealand early childhood curriculum underpins programme planning along with ongoing individual assessment, documentation, and planning for children. It encompasses the cultural heritage of both partners to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

We are an Enviroschool

We are proud to be part of the Enviroschools kaupapa and have currently reflected to Bronze Enviroschool status.

The programme provides pathways from early childhood through primary, intermediate, and secondary school and beyond. Through our collaborative approach of building strong relationships and sharing information, we are growing a collective puna mātauranga or pool of knowledge.
