Project Description

At Clayton Park Kindergarten we have four qualified and enthusiastic teachers. As teachers, we are dedicated to providing an exciting and stimulating learning environment that supports our children to foster a passion for lifelong learning.

Our enriched learning environment is attractive and well resourced. Teachers work co-operatively with children through noticing, recognising and responding to meaningful inquiry-based learning.  We value play as an active learning process which enables children to become competent and confident learners.

Here at Clayton Park Kindergarten, we welcome parent participation and partnership, as we work together to gain the best learning outcomes for children. We value and celebrate diversity as a way to learn from each other and about ourselves.

We encourage sustainable practices such as reduce, reuse and recycle. We have a kindergarten ‘Care Code’ which encourages our children to develop the necessary skills, attitudes and behaviours in caring and respecting the environment, themselves and others.

Our kindergarten has a close relationship with Clayton Park School, which is situated next door.  Your child’s well-being and learning will be empowered and enriched with our transition to school programme.

You are welcome to come in and visit at any time and experience what Clayton Park has to offer.

The Enviroschools programme supports children and young people to plan, design and implement sustainability actions that are important to them and their communities.

The programme provides pathways from early childhood through primary, intermediate and secondary school and beyond.  Through our collaborative approach of building strong relationships and sharing information, we are growing a collective puna mātauranga or pool of knowledge.

Enviroschools is supported by a national team, in partnership with nearly 100 national and regional partners, including the majority of New Zealand’s councils.  Facilitators from these partner organisations work with a suite of resources to progress the sustainability journey.

My daughter absolutley loved her learning time at Clayton Park Kindergarten and I couldn't recommend this kindergarten enough! Having a teaching background myself, I was always selective but I couldnt go past the care & time the all the teachers have here. Above and beyond the teachers believed in my daughter and her growth in confidence& happiness to go each day was unbelievable. My daughter has not long been at school now, & the dispositions and confidence that was valued at kindergarten has by far supported & eased her transition to school life... I cannot wait till my son turns 2 and can experience the learning happiness at Clayton Park too 😊read more

I looked around at a number of kindys in the area to send my 2 children too and I can hand on heart say that choosing Clayton park was an easy decision and the best I could have made. My children are treated as family rather than a number on the roll. ALL the staff are amazing and led by an amazing head teacher. My daughter recently fractured her collar bone and was scared to come back to kindy, the teachers really went above and beyond to welcome her back and to make sure she was comfortable. So to the teachers and staff Denise, Karen , Sam , Seema, Hari and Patrice thank you so much for all the work you do for our kids ❤️❤️read more

Clayton Park Kindergarten is such a special place. Led by a wonderful head teacher, the team at Clayton Park are all super friendly, experienced, professional and very supportive! The teachers and support staff always go the extra mile to ensure the tamariki and whanau are well looked after and create a very nurturing and happy environment. I love the atmosphere at the Kindy, it’s so positive and always abuzz as the tamariki are always busy exploring. The children are introduced to a wide range of activities on a daily basis, always learning and developing and more importantly having fun as they do it!! My son really enjoys his time there. His confidence has come ahead in leaps and bounds and he has developed wonderful relationships with all the teachers and support staff and has made some awesome friends along the way. You are all truly superstars ladies! Says a lot if Jaxson can’t wait to get back there every week!read more

I have both my daughters enrolled at Clayton Park Kindergarten, and they absolutely love it! No place they would rather be. They adore all their teachers and always come home to tell me about all the fun things they have been doing throughout the day. As a mother, I have really enjoyed the fact that they keep the whanau involved with the children’s learning! I have been to a number of performances that the kids have put on for us, as well as educational school trips. I have seen so much growth in both my girls since they started last year. Their confidence has boosted and I can see they are really thriving. A big thank-you to the beautiful teachers from the bottom of my guys are amazing read more
