Project Description

WELCOME TO OUR CENTRE

At Clayton Park Kindergarten we have four qualified and enthusiastic teachers. As teachers, we are dedicated to providing an exciting and stimulating learning environment that supports our children to foster a passion for lifelong learning.

Our enriched learning environment is attractive and well resourced. Teachers work co-operatively with children through noticing, recognising and responding to meaningful inquiry-based learning.  We value play as an active learning process which enables children to become competent and confident learners.

Here at Clayton Park Kindergarten, we welcome parent participation and partnership, as we work together to gain the best learning outcomes for children. We value and celebrate diversity as a way to learn from each other and about ourselves.

We encourage sustainable practices such as reduce, reuse and recycle. We have a kindergarten ‘Care Code’ which encourages our children to develop the necessary skills, attitudes and behaviours in caring and respecting the environment, themselves and others.

Our kindergarten has a close relationship with Clayton Park School, which is situated next door.  Your child’s well-being and learning will be empowered and enriched with our transition to school programme.

You are welcome to come in and visit at any time and experience what Clayton Park has to offer.

WE ARE AN ENVIROSCHOOL

The Enviroschools programme supports children and young people to plan, design and implement sustainability actions that are important to them and their communities.

The programme provides pathways from early childhood through primary, intermediate and secondary school and beyond.  Through our collaborative approach of building strong relationships and sharing information, we are growing a collective puna mātauranga or pool of knowledge.

Enviroschools is supported by a national team, in partnership with nearly 100 national and regional partners, including the majority of New Zealand’s councils.  Facilitators from these partner organisations work with a suite of resources to progress the sustainability journey.
