Roscommon Kindergarten is a friendly Pasifika Māori environment, welcoming all cultures, with emphasis on language and confidence in self.

We integrate healthy eating through the Healthy Heart programme partnered with regular physical exercise. Our outdoor area with its focus on the natural environment promotes fun, exploration, discovery and a wide variety of physical play opportunities. Exploring in all weathers, ensuring protection from the elements with Kaiako Educators who care.

We promote self-care skills for tamariki children to support healthy living in their future, like the Mighty Mouth tooth brushing programme, taking care of others and self.

We promote learning through play in a safe and stimulating environment, which fosters communication and socialisation skills, creative thinking, problem-solving and coping with change and challenges. The inside environment is warm, vibrant and reflects the cultural diversity of our kindergarten whanau. We offer a wide variety of opportunities, experiences and resources to empower and foster confident, competent learners

An enviro-kindergarten with a focus on sustainability, creating a sustainable culture and future.

We work consistently on maintaining our relationships within our community including building relationships with local Iwi, community groups, Manurewa Marae, Roscommon School, Counties Manukau Kindergarten Association Playtruck,  and Te Matariki Clendon Library.

The Enviroschools programme supports children and young people to plan, design and implement sustainability actions that are important to them and their communities.

The programme provides pathways from early childhood through primary, intermediate and secondary school and beyond.  Through our collaborative approach of building strong relationships and sharing information, we are growing a collective puna mātauranga or pool of knowledge.

Enviroschools is supported by a national team, in partnership with nearly 100 national and regional partners, including the majority of New Zealand’s councils.  Facilitators from these partner organisations work with a suite of resources to progress the sustainability journey.
