The right person is:
- A qualified ECE Teacher or Primary Teacher with NZ Teachers Council Certification
- Keen to work for Counties Manukau Kindergarten Association and our sister company, Early Learning Counties Manukau
- Looking for great working conditions in a professional, Not-For-Profit NZ owned organisation, including: 6 weeks annual leave, generous sick leave provisions, high quality teacher support programmes and regular non-contact time
- Looking for varied and interesting work in our kindergartens and early learning centres as a permanent relief teacher (we call this position a release teacher)
What are we looking for?
We are seeking a dynamic, experienced ECE teacher to work 40 hours per week in our Kindergartens and Early Learning Centres. This is a permanent position that will involve working as a relief teacher in both short and long-term positions across a number of locations.
The position is ideally suited for an experienced teacher who is flexible, organised, a great communicator and highly adaptable. It involves work in a wide range of environments, communities and cultures and provides a wonderful opportunity to get to know all of our kindergartens and centres.
Where is the position located?
We have two work areas available for this position; working in the Papakura, Manurewa and Manukau areas, or in the Papakura, Pukekohe and Waiuku areas, including Tuakau and Waiau Pa. Applicants may indicate which area they are interested in, depending on their home address.
What is Included in the role?
As a valued teacher working within a professional organisation, you receive 6 weeks annual leave, generous sick leave provisions and a minimum of 4 hours per week non-contact time. The role is fully supported with access to our professional development programmes and on-going mentorship support for appraisal and teacher certification by our Education Managers.
What are the hours of Work?
This is a Full Time, permanent position, working 40 hours per week involving 8 hours per day, with start times varying from 7.30am – 8.30am and finish times varying between 4.30am – 5.30pm.

Applicants must hold a relevant NZ teaching qualification (the minimum is a diploma of Teaching ECE or Primary) a current Teacher’s Council Practicing certificate, full drivers licence and have their own transport.
