Glenbrook Kindergarten –  Full-Time Teacher

Job Description:

This is a full time 40 hour per week position (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday) in an established and well-supported kindergarten in a rural setting and nicely situated between Waiuku and Pukekohe. The kindergarten currently very successfully operates a mix of 6 hour and 4 hour sessions. The kindergarten has a licensed roll of 30 children and a 1:10 teacher to child ratio, with an age range from 2 – 5 years.

We are looking for a Teacher  who is versatile, with a good understanding of inclusive planning, assessment and internal evaluation practices.  You will be welcomed into a team connected to the attending community.  You will enjoy working closely with whānau and supporting active children from diverse backgrounds.  You will also have excellent communication with all members of the wider kindergarten community.

We are looking for a teacher who has a passion for building meaningful relationships with children and their families and who has a drive to provide learning opportunities that extend beyond the centre, out into the wider community.    We value our community and whānau and hold importance in our children being immersed in and demonstrating whanaungatanga, manaakitanga, ukaipotanga and tuakana teina relationships so this is an integral part of our everyday environment.

The successful applicant must have sound knowledge of current approaches to teaching and learning, be committed to on-going professional development, and work well in mixed age settings.

Applicants require a minimum Level 7 Diploma or Bachelor of Teaching ECE, current first aid certificate and a current fully registered teacher practicing certificate.

Hours required:         Monday to Friday 40 Hours per week
